Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading inmate crews in building and renovating prison facilities, including tasks like erecting metal structures and pouring concrete.
It requires hands-on construction experience and the ability to read plans, estimate costs, and manage materials.
A good fit would be someone with at least five years in construction who is organized, comfortable supervising teams in a secure environment, and willing to complete training.
Responsible for construction and renovation of existing and new SCDC facilities.
Must have an extensive working knowledge of principles and techniques of building codes and reading blueprints.
Responsible for supervision of an inmate work crew.
Knowledge of metal building erection and knowledge of forming & pouring of concrete.
Must have a valid South Carolina driver's license.
Must have a CDL license or obtain within 6 months of hire date.
Must have organizational skills.
Must be able to do cost estimates and material take-offs.
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma and trades experience related to the area of employment.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and five (5) years of experience in all phases of construction field with knowledge of South Carolina Procurement Regulations.
