This job involves working as an engineer for the Navy to evaluate contractor proposals, ensure projects meet safety and environmental standards, and manage infrastructure planning while balancing costs, timelines, and risks.
You'll lead small teams, solve complex technical problems, and provide guidance on engineering projects.
It's a good fit for experienced engineers who enjoy project management in a government setting and have a background in facilities or infrastructure work.
You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the INFRASTUCTURE ENRG & PLNG MGMT DIV, INFRASTRUCTURE SAFETY & ENVIRO DEPT of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (DP-03) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Conducting technical evaluations of contractor proposals and supporting award recommendations; 2) Applying Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and Unified facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) to ensure engineering compliance; 3) Briefing leadership on complex engineering systems, including cost, schedule, and risk; and 4) Using Microsoft Office and CostWorks (or comparable cost estimating software) to develop estimates, track projects, and prepare correspondence without additional training.
