Full Job Description

Serves as a professional engineer with systems engineering responsibility in assigned functional areas (e.g., Systems Acquisition).

Acts as the organization's technical expert, providing leadership in planning, analyzing, and evaluating weapon system and subsystem requirements; translating requirements into design criteria; evaluating design alternatives; developing system specifications; and guiding and evaluating the work of others across multiple development phases.

Specialized experience is encompassing a range of engineering tasks that draw on electronics, mechanical, aerospace, and other fields to satisfy customer needs and involves utilizing emerging technologies and business practices to devise effective solutions, performing analyses through systematic methods, and overseeing projects/test planning expertise to meet business and technical objectives.

NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Ideal Candidate: Demonstrated expertise in DLA Energy SRM and MILCON programs supporting fueling facility maintenance, repair, and modernization Thorough knowledge of UFC 3-460-01 and UFC 3-460-03 requirements Strong background in fuels facility design and construction practices Working knowledge of API 653 and STI SP001 tank inspection standards Understanding of structural and hydraulic integrity principles for fuel storage systems Familiarity with API pipeline integrity principles Basic knowledge of environmental compliance requirements applicable to fueling facilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.

Knowledge of a wide range of multidisciplinary professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services.

Knowledge of development engineering methodologies sufficient to apply experimental theories and/or new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.

3. Knowledge of systems engineering practices and procedures as they pertain to sustainment, modification, logistics, and production management principles, concepts, policies, and systems. 4.

Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; of standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures; and of other engineering disciplines used in support of sustainment, modification, and maintenance programs.

5.

Ability to devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for design approaches; to assess the impact of new technology on current systems and processes; and to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, from conclusions, and devise and recommend solutions to problems.

6.

Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

Performs multidisciplinary professional engineering work involving the application of electronics, mechanical, aerospace, and/or other engineering disciplines to determine the business and technical needs of customers in the acquisition, development, or sustainment of weapon systems, sub-systems, support systems, equipment items, or an equivalent product.

Functions as the organization's technical specialist in developing system performance requirements, objectives and integration, and the estimation of time and resources for system design, development, and support.

Performs complex and comprehensive analyses and uses systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approaches to determine performance objectives and integration issues.

Serves as a consultant and technical expert to senior subject matter specialists and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations.
