Full Job Description

Serves as the Launch Site Integration Engineer (LSIE), within the Program Technical Integration Branch of the Exploration Ground Systems Program Directorate.

Duties include performing launch site payload integration for Artemis missions, including managing ground integration requirements, launch site hardware processing, and payload support for launch.

To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level: Performing systems engineering, systems integration, technical integration, or technical issue resolution methods to ensure successful execution of agency missions; Partnering with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and end users to design, develop, manage, and integrate systems across the full system life cycle, including requirements engineering, analysis, testing, evaluation, or implementation/operations, to achieve system effectiveness and efficiency.

Integrating or providing technical guidance of program and projects to achieve mission objectives and goals.

• Provides launch site payload integration for Artemis mission payloads, including co-manifested and utilization payloads.
• Leads cross-program coordination and technical integration with Space Launch System (SLS), Orion, Gateway, and other Moon to Mars programs (M2M) to resolve issues impacting the Exploration Ground Systems Program.
• Ensures safe and efficient payload integration across safety, interface, and operational domains through effective technical integration.
• Leads trade studies, assessments, and Program Assessment Reviews (PARs) in support of the Program Technical Integration Branch and the Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) program.
• Supports major program reviews, program-level technical planning and product development, and key agency-level planning and policy document development.
• Provides technical management and ensures effective implementation of program-level processes and documentation, including the Systems Engineering Management Plan, Certification of Flight Readiness (CoFR) Plan and Post-Flight assessment plan.
• Leads the development, coordination, and configuration management of payload Launch Site Support and Requirements Documents (LSSRD), ensuring requirements are accurately captured, documented, and maintained throughout the mission lifecycle.
