Full Job Description

You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT BRANCH (CODE 2302), NUCLEAR ENGINEERING and PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

****THIS IS A COMPETITIVE DETAIL TO TRAINING, NOT TO EXCEED ONE YEAR, AT THE CURRENT PAY LEVEL OF THE INCUMBENT.

UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE TRAINING THE INCUMBENT MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR SELECTION TO A PERMANENT GS-0801-11 OR A GS-0801-12 GENERAL ENGINEER POSITION.**** GS-12 In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: * Experience carrying out the full range of analytical and evaluative work related to the development and/or execution of phases of complex engineering programs.

* Experience coordinating all phases of work with orderly and timely flow of information.

* Experience ensuring work products meet technical specifications and requirements for work assigned to the Branch.

GS-11 In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: * Experience planning work, preparing engineering work instructions and reviewing engineering work by tradesman.

* Experience conducting technical reviews and evaluations of engineering proposals submitted by others. * Experience preparing and reviewing instructions and directives.
