Full Job Description

You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, AIR PLATFORM SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DIVISION, PEO(UW) PRGRAM BRANCH of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or DP-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serving as a Lead Systems Engineer or as a Lead Technical Domain Subject Matter Expert for assigned systems providing authoritative systems engineering or senior-level engineering technical domain input and advice to systems engineering and to the program management leadership; 2) Leading the development and incorporation of Systems Engineering work products or technical domain work products required to satisfy, complement and inform the DoW System Acquisition program management process milestones, artifacts, strategic planning, risk characterization and decision making on major weapon systems; 3) Leading the incorporation and use of various and broad resources to support engineering development, planning and testing for assigned systems; and 4) Leading engineering, technical, acquisition, and sustainment support personnel and teams.

  • You will develop and review program technical and mission documentation, provide authoritative input and advice on all engineering and technical issues, and ensure engineering requirements are met.
  • You will formulate engineering design concepts and performance requirements which provide the basis for overall technical and engineering planning for the assigned system.
  • You will determine project planning objectives for engineering development of current and long range programs.
  • You will integrate cost estimates with program plans (schedules, development requirements, test and evaluation requirements, projected problems, etc.) into a total acquisition POM and budget.
  • You will provide direction to cognizant personnel in the planning and development of the Test and Evaluation Master Plan with regard to engineering and technical requirements and procedures.
  • You will organize and execute weapon system technical reviews.
