This job involves leading engineering efforts for naval air systems, providing expert advice on technical issues, and guiding teams through the design, planning, and testing of major weapon systems.
A good fit would be an experienced engineer with leadership skills who enjoys working on complex defense projects and collaborating with program managers to meet mission goals.
You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, AIR PLATFORM SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DIVISION, PEO(UW) PRGRAM BRANCH of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or DP-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serving as a Lead Systems Engineer or as a Lead Technical Domain Subject Matter Expert for assigned systems providing authoritative systems engineering or senior-level engineering technical domain input and advice to systems engineering and to the program management leadership; 2) Leading the development and incorporation of Systems Engineering work products or technical domain work products required to satisfy, complement and inform the DoW System Acquisition program management process milestones, artifacts, strategic planning, risk characterization and decision making on major weapon systems; 3) Leading the incorporation and use of various and broad resources to support engineering development, planning and testing for assigned systems; and 4) Leading engineering, technical, acquisition, and sustainment support personnel and teams.
