Full Job Description

You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, AIR PLATFORM SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DIVISION, PEO(T) PROGRAM BRANCH of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or DP-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serving as a Lead Systems Engineer or as a Lead Technical Domain Subject Matter Expert for assigned systems; 2) Providing authoritative systems engineering or senior-level engineering technical domain input and advice to systems engineering and to program management leadership; 3) Leading the development and incorporation of Systems Engineering work products or technical domain work products required to satisfy, complement and inform the DoW System Acquisition program management process milestones, artifacts, strategic planning, risk characterization and decision making on major weapon systems; 4) Leading or significantly mastering the incorporation and use of the various and broad NAWCAD resources to support engineering development, planning and testing for assigned systems; and 5) Leading engineering, technical, acquisition, and sustainment support personnel and teams.

  • You will develop and review program technical and systems integration documentation providing authoritative input and advice on all engineering and technical integration issues.
  • You will participate in the development and design of new systems by assessing if available or imminent technology is sufficient to meet requirements or system concepts are applicable for fleet operational requirements.
  • You will integrate cost estimates with program plans (schedules, development requirements, test and evaluation requirements, projected problems, etc.) into a total acquisition POM and budget.
  • You will direct development of contract engineering specifications by defining system requirements, specifying evaluation criteria of contractor proposals, and directing the systems engineering portion of evaluations during source selection.
  • You will organize and execute weapon system technical reviews, and assess the progress of system development test and evaluation activities, inventory, production, and support to ensure adequate resources for project execution.
  • You will assign, manage, and coordinate capability integration program engineering tasks, and provide guidance on NAVAIR policies and procedures to ensure airworthiness, safety, readiness, and effectiveness of the weapon system.
