Job Description

Summary

This job involves overseeing the quality and operations of a calibration lab in the Navy, ensuring equipment is accurately tested and maintained for use on ships and bases.

You'll check inspections, update quality guidelines, verify calibration standards, and handle related reports to support fleet readiness.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 level in federal or equivalent service
  • Knowledge of repair and calibration processes for General Purpose Electronic Test Equipment (GPETE) and Special Purpose Electronic Test Equipment (SPETE)
  • Familiarity with Navy metrology program policies and procedures
  • Experience providing quality engineering oversight for calibration labs and production projects, including inspections and verifications
  • Ability to maintain calibration laboratory quality manuals

GS-12: $90,838 - $118,092 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following; Experience provide quality engineering oversight of the calibration laboratory and other production projects including but not limited to out-going equipment inspections, practical abilities verifications, and calibration verification inspections.

Experience maintaining calibration laboratory quality manual. Experience verifying the adequacy of the calibrations being used by the Department and other customers, both on Station and in the Fleet.

Experience managing all reports of calibrations and associated data used or generated by the calibration laboratory.

Incumbent must possess a working knowledge of repair and calibration processes for General Purpose Electronic Test Equipment (GPETE) and Special Purpose Electronic Test Equipment (SPETE).

Incumbent must possess a working knowledge of Navy metrology program policies and procedures.
