Summary

This job involves leading a team of engineers and specialists to oversee quality control in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of naval aircraft systems at a facility in North Carolina.

You'll investigate issues, improve processes, and ensure high standards in production to keep weapon systems reliable.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Integrated Quality Team Lead in the MRO Engineering Department/Depot Support Team of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal Service, with expertise in Fleet Support Team (FST) Engineering, and/or Mainteance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) developing program sustainment and acquisition engineering support, effectively managing technical and professional services required to sustain a weapon system, and evaluating new approaches, guides and standards to make engineering decisions.

  • You will lead a team comprised of technicians, artisans, specialists, analysts, production supervision, etc.
  • You will be a subject matter expert in quality engineering principles
  • You will participate in and lead reviews, projects, audits, and investigations for the purpose of evaluating and improving the quality program within the assigned ITs.
  • You will improve existing and/or develop new processes to emphasize accountability, discipline and attention to detail within the assigned IPT(s) resulting in higher quality products and services.
  • You will lead a team that conducts investigations to understand and resolve quality issues within the field of manufacturing, overhaul and repair with an expressed intent to implement and verify corrective and preventative actions
  • You will coordinate all investigations with all affected parties, including appropriate engineering technical authorities
  • You will actively engage with Operations Research Analysts, Quality Assurance Specialists, Estimators and Evaluators, Production Support Engineers, Industrial Engineers, artisans, and others to fully understand and vet all issues.
  • You will ensure baseline, periodic and regular reviews, audits and investigations are conducted to determine areas of needed improvement, as well as to investigate known or suspected areas with perceived quality issues
