Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: General Experience: 5-year experience that shows progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical or other work which has provided a general knowledge of management principles and practices, or progressively responsible experience in one or more of the functions in food and beverage management is Highly Desirable.
Substitution for General Experience: A four-year degree from an accredited college with a major in one or a combination of hospitality, culinary, restaurant, club management, or business management may be substituted for general experience.
Use of kitchen equipment and knowledge of high-volume operations.
In addition, applicants must have specialized experience gained in the operation or management of a government or civilian club, restaurant, or institutional feeding facility.
The experience must include responsibility or supervision over the various phases of food management operations, to include high level protocol activities and knowledge of government food safety practices.
Knowledge of Aloha software food service program. Be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical and obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete Food Handlers training.
Be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:
Responsible for the economic and efficient operation of all food and beverage outlets within 20 FSS facilities and activities within the Community Services Flight.
This includes the Molly's Bar and Grill, Bowling Center Snack Bar, Tee Top Café, all Rickenbacker's, Smoothie Bar, Weasel Wagon and all special events requiring food and beverage support to include catering.
Guides organizational decisions on program development, scaling, or discontinuation.
Implements higher level directives, formulates procedures and programs to ensure high standards of food and beverage operations.
Ensures all food safety and health requirements are maintained and practiced. May be asked to fill in for the Chef in his/her absence.
Establishes, reviews and evaluates menu planning, food service, food inventory control, and POS software associated with food services.
Establishes separate activities financial goals and objectives commensurate with market analysis of area or region.
Prepares budget, analyzes financial results and maintains solid financial posture of all 20 FSS food & beverage establishments. Responsible for workforce management, recruitment and staff training.
Manage real property resources and provide expert advice on renovations and equipment improvements. Develop capital improvement, short- and long-range plans - minor and major construction.
Reports to the Community Support Flight Chief. May act as acting Community Services Flight Chief in the absence of flight chief.
Coordinates special food and beverage events with senior military and civilian leadership and local, state and federal officials.
Works an uncommon tour of duty, must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Other assigned duties as required.
