This job involves working at a fish hatchery near Lake Powell, where you'll raise and care for native and sport fish species like bonytail and catfish in ponds, while monitoring water quality and keeping the facility clean.
You'll also handle feeding, health checks, data recording, and occasional public tours or assistance at other sites.
It's a great fit for someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work with animals, can handle independent tasks, and has a background in biology or aquaculture.
Maintain hatchery, office, and facility cleanliness. All troughs and incubators should be kept clean to prevent the growth of pathogens.
Keep disinfection equipment clean and charged, keep equipment disinfected and follow disinfection and biosecurity policies and protocols.
Keep work areas and facility clean and tidy to improve work efficiency, reduce hazards, and appearance to those we serve, as-well-as increase the overall longevity of equipment, vehicles and facility infrastructure.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that may include working extended days and some weekends.
