The Fiscal Department of Wayne County Human Services is on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled Fiscal Technician to enhance our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in analyzing and interpreting accounting records, ensuring accurate data input into our accounting system. Your responsibilities will include coding revenue and expenses, participating in reconciliations as needed, and working closely with both fiscal and program teams to foster collaboration. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing program invoices, maintaining various Excel workbooks for financial tracking, and handling other assigned duties. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Employee may have occasional overnight travel or out of County travel for meetings or training. Often, irregular hours, including: evening and weekends may be required.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant; or
  • Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or
  • One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirement:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
