A Fiscal Technician is responsible for organizing and implementing the Allegheny County and County Department of Human Services (DHS) Travel policy for disbursing DHS funds accurately, effectively and processing payments to employees and vendors.
Work involves examination of financial and travel records for maintenance of financial travel tracking systems.
You will also examine documents for propriety, quality, and conformance to established accounting procedures.
The incumbent has financial responsibilities to review, process, post, balance, monitor, track and keep computer records and is to have a working knowledge of the OnBase application.
Additionally, the Fiscal Technician is responsible for training Allegheny County Department of Human Services’ staff regarding the Travel Policy at the DHS-Bureau of Human Resources New Hire Orientation.
You will arrange travel accommodations, including hotel direct billing and flight arrangements for County DHS employees, as well as process and submit travel vouchers for approval.
The incumbent coordinates the processes for late submission of travel vouchers.
Trainings will be undertaken on financial reimbursement, the travel voucher process and any applications currently in use that would enhance or expedite the travel voucher reimbursement process.
This role serves as a contact person for the travel voucher process.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week after 6 months of employment.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
