This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Central Office, 400 Otarre Parkway Cayce, SC 29033.
Create third party claims once charges are closed and accurately allocated. Prepare, and batch all claims in the Avatar system for transmission and processing.
You will need to submit all claims electronically in the Avatar system and FTP them into our clearinghouse for psychiatric and physician billing.
Must process and import claims in our clearinghouse from our Avatar system.
Perform appropriate follow up activities to ensure timely payment and to minimize aged claims. Maintain files to document all work related to claims, process follow up, and payment or denials.
Contact any insurance company or federal or state agency to obtain and/or verify any available benefits or insurance coverage information.
Submit letters for collections to clients for all Medicare and Insurance carriers as needed on a daily basis.
Submit the monthly therapy reports to therapist for all facilities, so that the new Medicare charge CAP is maintained to discuss each client and appeal to Medicare as needed.
Key all therapies for psychiatric and nursing homes for billing. Ensure prompt assigning information for all transactions on the ACH report received daily.
Verify Medicare Part B at Forensics for 65+ clients.
