Requirements

As a Fiscal Management Specialist 1, you will be responsible for assisting customers with reporting revenue, analyzing projections, and issuing refunds.

Work involves managing the Customer Deposit Accounts Program, preparing revenue projections and other financial reports, as well as analyzing and reconciling program area revenue from various funding sources in accordance with agency internal controls.

You will also have the opportunity to provide technical assistance to customers through formal training sessions, informal discussions, e-mail, and meetings. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the determination and issuance of refunds of overpayments of fees for all DOS program areas
  • Preparing the daily revenue reconciliation of credit card fees and monthly reports
  • Assisting with the Department’s credit card transactions, ensuring proper allocation of funds
  • Participating in the Department’s system process modification requirements for Request for Proposals
  • Assisting the Division Chief with preparing the annual General Fund revenue estimates
  • Processing adjustment memos utilizing the Accounts Payable system

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Financial Programs Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of experience in paraprofessional fiscal administration work, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
