We are seeking a detail-oriented County Fiscal Officer 1 to join our core mission of supporting our community. As a Fiscal Officer, you will be responsible for accounting activities associated with the Wayne County Human Services Agency (HSA) programs. Requirements

As a County Fiscal Officer 1, you will be engaged in a variety of accounting activities such as preparing daily entries, reconciliations, and supporting reports for all accounts receivable and revenue transactions for multiple county programs.

You will provide support to the Aging Program by preparing reports, program documentation, and interpretation of the account records for input into a variety of program fiscal requests.

You will also provide fiscal maintenance and reconciliation of housing related grants.

This will include preparation and submission of invoices, fiscal status reports and other fiscal documentation as required.

This position requires a compliance-focused individual, as you will assist with the Fiscal Department's procedures, policies, and regulations to ensure our agency records remain in compliance.

We work in a fast-paced environment, so no day will be the same!


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. You may be expected to work irregular, evening, weekend, or holiday hours, as well as overnight travel or out of county travel for meetings or training.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years as a Fiscal Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) and six college credits in accounting; or
  • Five years of bookkeeping experience and six college credits in accounting; or
  • Three years of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business related associate's degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or
  • One year of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business-related bachelor's degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes or is supplemented by six college credits in accounting.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
