Requirements

In this position, you will have a variety of responsibilities in budgetary administration and serve as the assistant for the administration of Javits Gifted and Talented Students Education Program (JAVITS) federal funds.

Your work will involve overseeing the Gifted Education Program and implementation of the JAVITS Grant, as well as acting as the assistant for the administration of a complex federal JAVITS Grant program.

You will test the eGrants system and resolve problems, assist in reimbursement calculations, and prepare financial reports.

Some of your duties will include monitoring administrative cost centers, analyzing data to determine outcomes related to the use of funds, and presenting clear and concise reports.

Additionally, you will develop and update federal budget procedures, budget forms, and instructions for completing budgets.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, with Tuesdays as in office days.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Financial Programs Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of experience in paraprofessional fiscal administration work, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
