The Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Budget and Contracts is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Fiscal Management Specialist 2. Requirements

As a Fiscal Management Specialist 2, you will monitor operating expenditures, track and analyze Program Revision Requests (PRRs) and cost containments, and provide budget and fiscal support within the Office of Medical Assistance Programs (OMAP).

You will develop and maintain budget monitoring tools, review and approve funds commitments, and prepare monthly reports.

You will also serve as a lead worker to contract monitors within the bureau and provide direction regarding account code structure.

This role requires using sound judgement when considering the completeness, scope, and accuracy of completed work assignments.

In addition, you will coordinate activities for OMAP budget meetings, post pharmacy rebates to appropriate funding areas daily, and maintain timeline grids to monitor and ensure proper implementation of initiatives.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, working two days per week in the office.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Fiscal Management Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of experience in professional fiscal administration, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
