Job Description

Summary

This job is for a firefighter who is also trained as a paramedic, working with the U.S. Marine Corps to handle fires, medical emergencies, and hazardous situations at a base in California.

The role involves responding to crises, driving emergency vehicles, providing medical care, and conducting training and maintenance.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing fire suppression and prevention, emergency medical treatment and ambulance transport services, emergency communications, and public education and training services.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will respond to emergencies as a member of an Engine Company, Truck Company, Rescue Company, Hazardous Materials Team and/or a Rescue Team.
  • You will participate in daily training and instruction classes covering all phases of fire protection, fire prevention and emergency medical services.
  • You will act as the driver/operator of an emergency response pumper/ladder, brush fire fighting, ambulance, hazardous material response, or other rescue vehicle as required.
  • You will respond all hazardous materials incidents as required.
  • You will perform daily preventative maintenance inspections of firefighting transport vehicles, tools, and medical equipment.
  • You will respond to all medical emergencies and provides advanced patient assessment and treatment for victims of fire, sudden illness, accident injuries, childbirth, and other events requiring medical intervention.
