Job Description

Summary

This job involves handling financial tasks for the U.S. Marine Corps, such as processing travel and housing claims, managing budgets, and maintaining accurate accounts for military personnel.

GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing guidance on processing Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA) claims, travel claim vouchers, Housing Applications, and all other supporting documentation to complete claims according to regulations.

GS: 06: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Supporting budget analysis' and administration functions by maintaining ledgers, budget formulations, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will perform account maintenance and accounting support, verifying, maintaining and reconciling accounts and accounting data to prepare and analyze reports.
  • You will support the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and custody of cash items which includes handling cash items or use of cash accountability control methods.
  • You will examine documents for accuracy, adequacy of documentation, compliance with regulations for goods and services provided to or by the Government.
  • You will perform work to establish, maintain, correct and close pay accounts for active, reserve, or retired armed forces personnel and their annuitants.
  • You will interpret claimant's orders and reviews the Travel Voucher and all documentation to determine that all required receipts necessary to adjudicate the claim and authorize payment by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) are provided.
