Summary

This job involves handling financial tasks like processing payments to vendors, managing accounts payable, reconciling statements, and processing payroll for civilian employees at a military medical center.

About the Position: This position with Directorate of RM Financial Management located in Naval Medical Center San Diego, CA.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using automated systems to enter and/or process data, reviews documents for accuracy and completing corrective actions to resolve discrepancies in pay, leave accounts, contacts travel etc.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Major Duties:

  • Manage the full cycle of accounts payable transactions, ensuring strict compliance with all applicable regulations, including the Financial Management Regulation (FMR) and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Receive, review, and verify invoices, vouchers and supporting documents for accuracy against corresponding purchase orders or contracts.
  • Schedule and execute prompt payments to vendors through checks, electronic transfers, or automated systems.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy and identify and resolve any discrepancies and ensure timely resolution and address vendor inquiries about payments.
  • Prepare and inputs journal vouchers into the financial management system to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions within the general ledger.
  • Conducts detailed monitoring and reconciliation of accounts, comparing data between disparate sources and reports to proactively identify and perform in-depth analyses of adjustments.
  • Determines pay, process payroll changes, and complete related reports for civilian employees adhering strictly to Defense Civilian Personnel System (DCPS) and Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) guidelines.
