About the Position: This position is with the Defense Commissary Agency, Field Operating Activity, Resource Management Directorate, Overseas Financial Management Division located in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

Specialized Experience - GS-06 Grade Level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing work in performing monthly reconciliations, examining files and accounts to assure they are in balance and proper format.

Specialized Experience - GS-07 Grade Level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing work in performing account balancing and reconciliation duties; experience with automated accounting and civilian pay/leave systems; working with automated financial systems, and accounting code structure and procedures that involve a wide variety of interrelated steps, conditions, and procedures or processes.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Time in Grade Requirement: GS-06 Grade Level: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).

Time in Grade Requirement: GS-07 Grade Level: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Major Duties:

  • Assists in reviewing budget guidance, developing budget requirements, studying trends, and monitoring and evaluating budget execution.
  • Participate as a member of a study team in planning the work of conducting management studies applicable to organization policy and structures, space management, manpower, equipment requirements/utilization and control.
  • Prepare reports comparing actual obligations and expenditures with budget requirements, distributes monthly budget versus cost reports to leaders and supervisors. Receive and examine complex payroll authorization documents.
  • Audit pay and leave accounts to identify and correct delinquent and/or erroneous personnel actions or time- keeping errors.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation and recapitulation of the general subsidiary accounts to assure that the basic accounting data and computerized and manual reports are in balance.
