Full Job Description

You will serve as a Financial Management Analyst in the Accounting Division, Comptroller Department of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying the full range of advisory and analytical services, such as performing internal control testing, correcting abnormal balances and deficiencies on financial statement line items, reviewing financial processes and procedures to ensure compliance with Navy and DOD regulations and policies.

Experience developing and implementing financial improvement strategies. Experience providing advice to program managers on regulatory requirements, interpretation of data and financial policies.

Experience providing solutions to problems by developing and modifying accounting methods and techniques.

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying accounting principles, theories, and techniques to independently perform accounting work for operational programs or systems.

Experience with administrative and financial management systems.

Experience with the financial management policies of the activity's missions, functions, applicable DON, DOD, and Federal regulations and their relationship to other Federal activities and private industry.

Experience gathering, assembling, consolidating, and analyzing facts and drawing conclusions.
