DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTION


  • Develops, monitors, analyzes, and updates financial reports, records, and plans related to transactional activities.
  • Coordinates and delivers cash-handling training for departmental staff.
  • Plans, reviews, and conducts surprise and quarterly audits of petty cash, change funds, and collection sites, ensuring compliance with cash-handling and petty cash/change fund policies and procedures.
  • Monitors and reviews daily and monthly cash deposit activity and reconciliations, communicating professionally with bank representatives and collection sites to resolve deposit discrepancies and process adjustments.
  • Reviews and reconciles daily credit card sales postings and online payment activity to ensure timely and accurate bank deposits.
  • Performs monthly reconciliation of cash balance sheet and accounts receivable general ledger accounts against bank deposits and communicates discrepancies with affiliate sites.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and recommends improvements to financial programs, processes, and systems.
  • Serves as a liaison with external agencies and organizations to address inquiries, complaints, or issues related to cash receipts and cash-handling processes.
  • Acts as the PCI Compliance Liaison, coordinating between internal IT teams and external auditors to ensure compliance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS), including the collection, documentation, and retention of compliance evidence and controls.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are occasional minor discomforts from exposure to less-than-optimal temperature and air conditions. The position may involve dealing with modestly unpleasant situations, as with occasional exposure to office chemicals and/or extensive use of a video display terminal.

Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a field directly related to the type of work being performed.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Four (4) years of professional experience in finance, economics, budget analysis or a closely related field.

Substitutions: Experience cannot be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree requirement. A Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a closely related field may be substituted for two years of the above experience requirement
