Financial Analyst E (9-P11)The financial analyst is responsible for maintaining records, preparing data for analysis, and the monitoring and analysis of
IT project financial information. This position is responsible to analyze and validate specific expenses by IT project and
follow-up with appropriate department personnel. Position is also responsible for assisting with other administrative tasks
for the section.
Position Description (E Level)Financial Analyst A (12)As the senior level Financial Analyst, responsible for maintaining annual spending plans and quarterly financial projections. This involves monitoring and correcting revenue and expenditure activity, establishing account coding, and providing technical expertise to program management for assigned appropriations. Additionally, the Financial Analyst is responsible for creating tools and recommending process improvements that will streamline project development, project monitoring, and reporting methods, and for training and supporting other financial personnel.

Requirements
EducationPossession of a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 12 semester (18 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: accounting, finance, or economics
Experience
Financial Analyst 9
No specific type or amount is required.
Financial Analyst 10
One year of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst 9.
Financial Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Financial Analyst 10.
Financial Analyst 12
Three years of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Financial Analyst P11, Accountant P11, or Auditor P11. Qualifications
College credits may be substituted on a proportional basis (one year of college education may substitute for one quarter of the required experience) for up to one half of the required experience. Additional Information

The physical location of this position is the Grand Tower Building at 235 S. Grand Ave., Lansing, MI. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.
Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.

Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
- A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
- A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
- Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
