The City of Norfolk’s Department of Human Services (NDHS) provides a wide range of essential services to its citizens.
These services are crucial in supporting the wellbeing of the community and ensuring that all citizens have access to the resources they need.
NDHS is committed to providing such comprehensive support to its citizens.
The NDHS Child Protective Services (CPS) program conducts home studies to assess family needs. This division Investigates reports of abuse and neglect of children and intervenes when necessary.
NDHS CPS is seeking to hire a Family Services Worker II to manage an assigned workload, conduct interviews, keep strong documentation, and ensure safe alternative placements are conducted when necessary/in accordance with federal, state, and local guidance and procedures.
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field or minimum of a Bachelor's degree in any field and minimum of two years of appropriate and related experience in a Human Services area (Section 22VAC40-670-20 of the Administrative Code of Virginia).
Possession of a BSW or MSW degree and a Commonwealth of Virginia Social Worker license are desirable.Two (2) years experience in Social Services.
