This job involves managing a team that keeps the heating, cooling, and utility systems running smoothly at the Pentagon, ensuring year-round maintenance and repairs for steam and chilled water distribution.
It's a leadership role overseeing government workers, contractors, and technicians to handle everything from equipment fixes to building upkeep.
A good fit would be someone with strong management skills and hands-on experience in facility operations, especially in large-scale government or military settings.
This position is located in the Pentagon Heating and Refrigeration Plant (PH&RP), Facilities Operations and Services Division (FOSD), Facilities Services Directorate (FSD), The PH&RP is responsible for the production and distribution of Steam, and Chilled Water to supply the heating and cooling needs of the Pentagon Reservation.
Serves as the Manager responsible for the Government workforce that maintains continuous, year-round maintenance, and repairs on the above systems.
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates: (1) your leadership experience, as selectee will be the leader of a team of administrative, contract, and engineer technician personnel.
(2) applying a comprehensive range of principles, concepts, and practices concerning facility administration sufficient to evaluate, adapt, or modify procedures and practices concerning property, facilities, mechanical, utility and fire alarm systems, buildings, equipment, plans, and grounds maintenance; (3) knowledge in the areas of government contracts, program management, facilities, development policies and regulations; (4) applying knowledge of a wide range of facility technical aspects related to facility operations, including applicable regulations, codes, unique mechanical, electrical, data and utility systems, and facility maintenance practices.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
