Full Job Description
The Facilities Manager - Golf is responsible for overseeing the entire operation of a large golf facility which includes 27 holes of golf, clubhouse operation, maintenance operation and driving range operation. To manage a large revenue producing facility and ensure revenue collection under the guidelines and regulations provided by the department. The incumbent will be required to work some evenings, weekends, and holidaysMetro’s Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of facilities and programs throughout Davidson County.
Currently, the department oversees nearly 16,000 acres of open space, including 184 parks and 107 miles of greenway.
Metro Parks offers after school programs for children, activities for seniors (55+), cultural arts classes, dog parks, fitness classes, nature programs, sports leagues, ice hockey, art galleries, and much more.

Requirements
- Managing Golf Facilities
- Coordinating clubhouse maintenance and driving range activities
- Receiving and verifying inventory including coordinating deliveries with vendors.
- Inspecting course, facilities, and equipment for unsafe conditions.
- Enforcing safety rules and regulations and taking corrective action as needed.
- Coordinating driving range operating hours to ensure maximum revenue collection including scheduling starting times and collecting green fees.
- Setting up equipment and/or arranging displays as needed.
- Troubleshooting problems with the POS (Point of sale) system.
- Financial Responsibilities
- Compiling and maintaining accurate records and receipts.
- Ensuring that cash handling procedures set forth in the operation manual are followed and all revenue is entered into the point-of-sale system properly.
- Maintaining daily cash records and making daily cash deposits.
- Making budget recommendations for personnel, materials, and equipment.
- Operating cash register and other equipment as needed.
- Preparing, reviewing, and processing requisitions and related documents and ensuring all requisitions comply with departmental standards.
- Receiving money for fees, admission, equipment rental, and sales.
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Assigning duties and training employees to ensure employees perform work in a correct and efficient manner.
- Hiring, supervising, counseling, evaluating, and correcting employees as needed.
- Assisting golfers by answering questions and arranging for play.
- Receiving and handling complaints.
- Scheduling reservations for use of facilities.
- Planning, organizing and administering special events.
- Promoting the game of golf and organizing activities with local golf associations to promote the game and association activities.
- Coordinate daily activities with Golf Maintenance staff to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Recreation, Physical Education or a related field from an accredited college or university
and three (3) years experience managing a golf course or related recreational operation.

Valid Driver License

Additional Information
- Experience with basic computer programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Experience with computerized point-of-sale systems used in retail sales
- Knowledge of current golfing techniques, equipment, and golf course operation, including maintenance and clubhouse functions
- Experience in accounting, budgeting, personnel and purchasing procedures
