Job Description

Summary

This job involves maintaining and repairing building systems like HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety features across multiple health facilities in Nashville, both onsite and in the field.

Key Requirements

  • Ability to use hand and power tools, safety equipment, and maintenance tools
  • Custodial experience and ability to perform cleaning tasks
  • Ability to work outside scheduled shifts or on call as needed

Full Job Description

MPHD is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on the systems and equipment inside and outside of multiple health related facilities.

Requirements

Performs preventative maintenance on environmental systems.Replaces or cleans filters.Performs routine maintenance, cleaning and repairs on HVAC systems.Maintains and/or replaces thermostats.Repairs and maintains fixtures, furniture, electrical systems, and plumbing systems.Diagnoses failures in equipment and initiates necessary repairs.Repairs and maintains toilets, sinks, water fountains, and drainage pipes.Replaces parts in motorized or electrical machinery.Replaces or installs doors, locks, windows, and related hardware.Monitors elevators and requests maintenance and repairs as needed.Ensures operation of all building safety features such as alarms and sprinkler systems.Assists in maintaining building security system and procedures.Checks for and reports signs of vandalism, theft, or break-ins.Participates in custodial services work.Assists in inspecting and evaluating physical condition of buildings/structures.Inspects and maintains equipment.Maintains grounds of various facilities and related equipment.Keeps records and makes reports.Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications High School Diploma or GED.Two (2) years of skilled maintenance and/or repair work on electrical, environmental, or mechanical building systems.Valid class “D” driver’s license, use of personal vehicle, and maintenance of valid personal vehicle insurance as required by Tennessee Law.Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply, however at the present time MPHD is not sponsoring individuals through any of the US Governments employment-based immigration programs.MPHD seeks to be a socially and culturally responsive organization that acknowledges and addresses historical and current inequities in our public health promotion and practice.
