This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Office of Facilities Support.
As a Facilities Maintenance Manager, you will direct the activities of five trade-specific shops, controls and automation unit, plant engineers, mailroom services, and a facilities service contracts unit.
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position includes: - Supervising facility related operations, maintenance, and custodial activities; ex: directing and supervising specific construction work, minor projects, emergency/service actions, recurring jobs, maintenance.
AND - Evaluating program plans for efficiency and compliance. AND - Experience monitoring employee workload and performance to determine current and future needs.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks. Major Duties:
As a Facilities Maintenance Manager, you will: - Work with subordinate supervisors to establish a good working climate to encourage employees to participate in achieving strategic and organizational goals and to promote efficient and economical operations.
- Initiate, plan, and direct the facilities maintenance activities including maintenance service contracts, which affects the BEP's production programs.
- Identify and direct improvements to operations and maintenance.
- Represent the Office of Facilities Support in conferences and meetings with customers, in which short and long range facility maintenance planning is performed.
