About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA.

The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and childcare available. Mass transportation is available at minimal cost.

Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports and recreation activities.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

GS-09 GRADE LEVEL Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assisting in performing cost estimates for the installation, maintenance and/or repair of facility equipment; 2) Assisting in preparing purchase descriptions for recordkeeping; OR 3) Assisting in tracking requests for equipment turn-in.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07) OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Engineering, Industrial Arts, Property Management, or Business Administration.

(Note: You MUST attach a copy of your validated OFFICIAL or UNOFFCIAL TRANSCRIPTS.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D.

or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Engineering, Industrial Arts, Property Management, or Business Administration.

(Note: You MUST attach a copy of your validated OFFICIAL or UNOFFCIAL TRANSCRIPTS.) OR Combination: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

  • Develop a systematic work plan for repairs throughout the facility.
  • Develop detailed job plans, including equipment cost for the projected work.
  • Prepare, track, and manage all rental/leased and maintenance service contracts.
  • Determine extent of repair and/or modification to determine if replacement or disposals are practical alternatives.
  • Evaluate and interpret approved drawings, blueprints, sketches, construction, maintenance, alterations, and repair activities.
