This job involves acting as the main contact for handling ethics, compliance, and privacy issues in a state department that supports veterans and the National Guard, including investigating concerns, ensuring rules are followed, and training staff.
You'll oversee health privacy laws like HIPAA in veterans' homes and help create policies to maintain high standards of integrity.
It's a great fit for someone organized, proactive, and passionate about public service who enjoys a mix of office work, travel, and problem-solving in a meaningful role.
Are you a goal-oriented, proactive professional with exceptional organizational and decision-making skills who is committed to excellence?
The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) is seeking a dedicated Ethics and Compliance Officer to help uphold the highest standards of integrity and accountability across the agency.
In this pivotal role, you will ensure that the leadership team, management, and employees adhere to all applicable regulatory requirements, DMVA policies and procedures, and established standards of conduct.
The DMVA has a dual mission: delivering quality services to the Commonwealth’s veterans and their families while also overseeing and supporting the members of the Pennsylvania National Guard.
Ethics and compliance are foundational to achieving our mission and maintaining the trust of those we serve.
If you are looking for an exciting opportunity to advance your administrative career in a fast-paced, challenging, and highly rewarding environment, we invite you to bring your creativity, leadership, and project management expertise to our team.

In this position, you will serve as a central point of contact for compliance and privacy matters across DMVA’s six veterans homes, receiving concerns and directing them to the appropriate resources for thorough investigation and resolution.
You will oversee the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and health care regulatory components of the DMVA compliance program.
Your responsibilities include conducting HIPAA compliance and ethics investigations.
Through these efforts, you will help develop and implement effective corrective actions, draft policy recommendations, design and deliver training initiatives, and audit program office activities to ensure ongoing compliance.
All work is carried out within a broad framework of applicable laws, regulations, and established policies.
