Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage the maintenance, repairs, and testing of nuclear submarines like the Trident and Columbia classes during extended overhaul periods at a naval facility.

You'll plan schedules, oversee testing of ship systems, and ensure everything meets certification standards for safe operations.

Full Job Description

You will serve as an ERP PROJECT MANAGER in the Extended Refit Period, Code 304 of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, executing or managing a program for integrating work schedules and testing of Trident/Columbia class submarines, (e.g.

such as HM&E, non-propulsion electronics, command and control systems); coordinating sea trials testing for extended refit periods (ERP).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will support the lifecycle maintenance including incremental overhaul, repair, replenishment and modernization of Trident and Columbia class submarines.
  • You will manage minor CNO level availabilities to include planning, executing, testing and certification per the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM).
  • You will lead the ERP team to ensure proper sequencing and effective execution of the ship systems testing and components required for certification of IMF work.
  • You will perform oversight of Pre-Availability Test (PATs) scheduling with Ship's Force, completion and reporting, Hull Mechanical and Electrical (HM and E) testing, Non-Propulsion Electronics (NPES) testing, and Command and Control Systems (CCS).
  • You will perform supervision and oversight of all personnel assigned to the ERP Project Team.
  • You will schedule maintenance including in-port operations, dry-docking periods, major evolutions and certification periods.
  • You will support Sea Trials as required by the JFMM.
  • You will ensure that the active ERP Availability Work Book (AWB) test library is maintained for future reference, which include review, revision and content oversight of HM and E, CCS/NPES test procedures.
