In addition to meeting the basic requirement, qualified applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-13) in the Federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-13) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Experience involves directing all stages of complaint activity, drafting legally sound final agency decisions, representing the agency in legal and oversight discussions, and overseeing complex investigations into discrimination and harassment claims.

You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

  • Manages EEO Complaint Processing. Ensure counseling is timely and accurately completed, claims are accepted/dismissed timely and investigations are requested timely. Draft final agency actions and final agency decisions, both merit and non-merit.
  • Manages caseload to ensure all actions required in processing EEO complaints are timely. Complete sufficiency review of all investigations and ensure redactions are completed as required by EEO specialists.
  • Manages No Fear Act reporting, annual 462 reporting, and internal case management reporting to EEO Director. Prepare and provide regular briefings to management on complaint trends, specific topics, and provide training to managers regarding EEO.
  • Represents the Agency in meetings with EEOC, DoW, OGC, and senior agency officials. Maintain statistical and historical data representing trends and/or performance metrics, and develop plans of action and milestones to incorporate improvement.
