Job Description

Summary

This job supports the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program in the U.S.

Navy's Pacific Fleet by handling administrative tasks like managing records, assisting with complaints, and helping employees with disabilities.

It involves using office software to organize documents and provide information on EEO services such as accommodations and dispute resolution.

A good fit would be someone with administrative experience, strong organizational skills, and an interest in promoting workplace fairness, ideally with familiarity in federal or military settings.

For the GS-7: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-6 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing support to senior Equal Employment Specialists in routine EEO processes/procedures such as interviewing/taking EEO complaints, providing general information to customers seeking information on EEO services including reasonable accommodation, the EEO complaint process, and Alternative Dispute Resolution.

For the GS-6: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: maintaining electronic records such as databases, spreadsheets, etc. in order create and maintain EEO case files.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will provide technical, office automation, and clerical assistance in support of the EEO program, as well as Personal Assistance Services (PAS) for employees who have targeted disabilities.
  • You will assist specialists in collecting documents to ensure timely response to requests from EEO investigators and adjudicators.
  • You will assist Individuals with Targeted Disabilities (IWTD) to ensure their personal needs are met during duty-hours, official travel, training, and employer-sponsored events.
  • You will serve as technical office automation expert and use advanced features of multiple software packages to create integrated work products.
  • You will maintain records, logs, and document files, format correspondence and other documents used in processing dispute resolutions, reasonable accommodation, and EEO complaints.
