Designated Area: Barbour, Berkeley, Brooke, Calhoun, Clay, Doddridge, Gilmer, Grant, Hampshire, Morgan, Randolph, Taylor, Tyler, Upshur, Webster counties

Employee will be:

  • Assigned to the Division of Mining and Reclamation (DMR), Coal & Noncoal Permitting Section (Articles 3, 4, 11 & 12).
  • Performs managerial-level professional work under administrative direction.
  • Supervises a large staff of professional, technical, and administrative personnel.
  • Plans, organizes, implements, monitors, and controls staff activities to ensure efficient and economical permit review operations.
  • Coordinates permitting unit activities with other divisions, offices, and entities to foster cooperation and establish common goals.
  • Requires application of scientific principles and knowledge of federal and state regulations and laws.
  • Utilizes program planning techniques related to coal and non-coal permitting (Articles 3, 4, 11 & 12).
  • Performs additional duties as assigned or required.

  • Regular attendance is an essential part of this position.

  • The recommended candidate will be subject to a search of his or her Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) prior to being hired and annually thereafter.

Qualifications

Training: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university.

OR

Substitution: Additional experience as described below may substitute for the required training at a rate of one (1) year of experience for every fifteen (15) semester hours of graduate training and/or every thirty (30) semester hours of the undergraduate training.

AND

Experience: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience related to the specialty area.
