Job Description

Summary

This job involves advising on environmental policies and programs focused on agriculture in the EPA's Region 3 office in Philadelphia, helping to coordinate efforts that protect the environment through farming practices.

Key Requirements

Full Job Description

This position is in Office of the Regional Administrator, Region 3.

About Region 3: Region 3 This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.

NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

To qualify for the GS-13 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level defined as evaluating policies, programs, and/or practices, to achieve environmental goals and outcomes; and collaborating with internal and/or external customers.

To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as evaluating or developing agricultural policies, programs, and practices to achieve environmental goals andoutcomes; providing guidance and/or recommendations to internal and/or external customers; and coaching, mentoring or leading others.

You will need the following competencies in order to perform the duties of this position successfully: Environmental Laws and Regulations. Influencing/Negotiating. Political Savvy. Oral Communication.

Policy Planning and Execution.* (assessed at GS-13/14) Written Communication. Manages and Organizes Information.

Program/Project Management/Evaluation.* (assessed at GS-13/14) Teamwork.* (assessed at GS-13/14) Organizational Awareness. *You will be evaluated on these critical competencies.

You will: Advise and assist the Regional Administrator in coordinating,understanding and taking action on agricultural sector activities in Region 3.

Serve as an authoritative resource on policy and provide expert advice to all levels of staff and management.

Provide project management, by coordinating interdisciplinary projectteams to identify, plan and prioritize work and strategies.
