Full Job Description

You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the Installation and Environmental Division of MCLB ALBANY GA.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing complex environmental compliance programs with deep expertise in air quality, asbestos management, and hazardous air pollutant regulations, serving as the installation's subject matter expert.

Handling regulatory compliance efforts by overseeing permit development, inspections, monitoring, reporting, and resolution of environmental deficiencies across diverse stakeholders.

Coordinating large-scale compliance projects, advising command staff, and interfacing with federal, state, and local agencies to ensure alignment between operations and regulatory requirements.

Overseeing environmental programs, guides policy development, and driving compliance strategies from planning through execution within a highly regulated environment.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will function as the Air and Asbestos program manager and primary point of contact for local coordination of the Marine Corps Programs mandated by the Clean Air Act
  • You will prepare reports as required by the CAA Title V permit.
  • You will determine the most feasible corrective measures for various non-routine environmental deficiencies.
  • You will work with affected activities and/or tenant commands to coordinate inspections by Marine Corps, State or Federal personnel and resolves issues related to compliance or differing regulatory Interpretations.
  • You will participate in preparation of Marine Corps comments to appropriate Federal or State regulatory agencies or legislative committees.
