Full Job Description

You will serve as an ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the FORCE HEALTH PROTECTION of NMRTC SAN DIEGO CA.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing environmental programs to ensure compliance with Medical and Hazardous Waste Regulation.

Managing, planning, and inspecting lead and asbestos regulations. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite.

  • You will manage and perform administrative work related to environmental protection programs.
  • You will serve as subject matter expert on environmental compliance and sustainability matters.
  • You will track the progress of these projects both pre and post award (if completed by contractual means) or pre and post planning phase (if completed by other means)
  • You will maintain comprehensive and current knowledge of the most recent applicable Federal and State environmental statutes and regulations.
  • You will oversee assignments involving a combination of varied complex features resulting from such elements as continuing changes in programs, technological development, conflicting requirements, or rapidly changing regulatory guidelines
  • You will ensure that all environmental permits are maintained, and all permit requirements are performed.
  • You will ensure any new processes or equipment are reviewed for environmental concerns and guidance provided for any issues observed.
