Job Type:
Casual, Part-time. These are part-time jobs where you can work up to 1,400 hours in a year. Employees in these positions serve at will. These jobs are called Community Service Aide I's by the City of Portland.
Benefits: These jobs are not eligible for benefits.

Youth Conservation Crew - Youth Crew Member
(Ages 14+) - $18.00 per hour
Work in nature completing restoration projects in Portland Parks natural Areas, community gardens, and trails.
Daily Schedule:-During the summer work Tuesday - Friday, June 23 - August 7, 2026. 8:30am - 2:30pm-During the school year, you can sign up to work on Saturdays and on school holidays
Nature Day Camp - Teen Educator I (Ages 16+) - $18.00 per hour
Work with children ages 5 – 12 in local parks, leading games, activities, and exploring nature. Help with After Care.
Daily Schedule: - June 15 through August 18, 2026; Monday through Friday; 8:00am to 4:00pm, OR 9:30am - 5:30pm (if you help with After Care)

Requirements
The following qualifications are required for this position:
- Applicants ages 14+ years old by June 23, 2026 will be considered for Youth Conservation Crew - Youth Crew Member.
- Applicants must be enrolled in high school in the 2025 - 2026 school year to be considered for the Youth Conservation Crew - Youth Crew Member.
- Applicants ages 16+ years old by June 15, 2026 will be considered for Nature Day Camp - Teen Educator I.
- Hold a current CPR/First Aid Certification by time of offer for Nature Day Camp - Teen Educator I.
Preferred Qualifications:
Please note, these are not required, but will be helpful:
- Speak one of the following languages: Spanish, Vietnamese, Somali, Chinese, or Russian.

Hiring Process:Step 1: Apply online starting on February 16 2026 - March 22, 2026.
Step 2: We will review your application to see if you meet the minimum needs for this role.
Step 3: If you qualify, you will be placed on a list of eligible candidates.
Step 4: We will contact eligible candidates for interviews as positions become available. Interviews will happen in April.
Step 5: Job offers will be made after interviews, in April and May.
Step 6: The start date will be approximately June 15, 2026, for Nature Day Camp, and June 23, 2026 for Youth Conservation Crew, once all hiring conditions are met.
