Requirements

In this role, you will serve as a hydrogeologic expert, offering scientific support to colleagues by examining and addressing intricate soil and groundwater contamination issues.

Your responsibilities within the hazardous sites cleanup section include the identification, investigation, and cleanup of contaminated sites to guarantee adherence to federal and state laws, regulations, policies, and procedures as outlined in the State Hazardous Sites Cleanup Program, the Land Recycling Program, and the Federal Superfund Program.


Your expertise will be crucial in navigating the complexities of environmental challenges, ensuring that all cleanup efforts meet the necessary compliance standards.

This position demands a thorough understanding of hydrogeology and a commitment to environmental protection, as you work collaboratively to resolve pollution issues and promote public health and safety.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week, after successful completion of the training period.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

  • Salary: Most selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $69,203.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements:

  • You must possess an active license as a professional geologist issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
  • You must possess an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.


Other Requirements:

  • You must possess and maintain a REAL ID or passport for this position. Proof of possession will be needed at the time of a conditional offer of employment.
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
