Summary

Full Job Description

You will serve as an Engineer/Scientist in the Weapon Control Test & Evaluation Branch; Unmanned & Expeditionary Weapon Systems Division; Weapons Control & Integration Department of NAVSURFWARCENDLD.

You will serve as Battle Management System (BMS) Lead Test & Evaluation Engineer.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer or scientist coordinating or conducting test & evaluation efforts for the Battle Management System (BMS) or other warfare software and hardware systems.

Examples of specialized experience may include: developing warfare system test programs and methods of test, executing test and evaluation, and reporting of results; developing, implementing, and improving test and evaluation process for increased efficiency such as test automation; leading and mentoring a technical team to conduct warfare system test and evaluation throughout the project lifecycle.

  • You will lead test and evaluation across the Battle Management System (BMS) portfolio in the development of weapon control systems and other technologies to meet emerging warfighter needs.
  • You will lead and mentor the BMS Test Team, comprised of engineers, scientists, and technicians that plan, execute, and report the results of test and evaluation, ensuring high technical expertise and rigor.
  • You will represent test and evaluation on the BMS leadership team and provide oversight of test and evaluation matters on technical and programmatic reviews and boards.
  • You will collaborate with project and technical leadership to ensure requirements are testable and system designs and architectures support automated testing.
  • You will communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, and military personnel.
  • You will plan test programs that balance budget, schedule, and staffing with technical risk in negotiation with project leadership and technical authorities.
  • You will lead the development of test automation, test modernization, and process improvement efforts to increase the efficiency and quality of test and evaluation.
