Base salary range: $51,332 - $66,732
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-8. Master's degree or 2 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves supporting Navy construction projects by reviewing plans, coordinating with teams, solving technical problems, and making sure projects stay on time and within budget at a shipyard in Washington.
It's a hands-on role helping manage contracts between the military and private builders, including checking material quality and training junior staff.
A good fit would be someone with technical experience in construction or engineering who enjoys fieldwork and teamwork in a government setting.
You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the NAVFAC Resident Officer in Charge of Construction Office of NAVFAC NORTHWEST in direct support of the Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing plans and coordinating with stakeholders; 2) Resolving any technical issues; and 3) Ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.
