Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves supporting engineering projects for naval facilities, including reviewing construction plans, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring contractors follow regulations to keep projects on track.
You'll communicate with customers about progress and help resolve issues to maintain facilities efficiently.
It's a good fit for someone with hands-on experience in construction oversight and a detail-oriented approach to technical support in a government setting.
You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND ACQUISITION DIVISON of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing status updates and addressing concerns for customers in the field (e.g.
project completion, maintenance delays, etc.); 2) Making recommendations to resolve problems encountered including technical or procedural changes; 3) Approving or providing input for approval of construction contract invoices for payment, and ensuring contractors are in compliance with state and federal environmental and labor regulations; 4) Reviewing and monitoring construction plans and specifications; and 5) Assisting with maintaining the facility and minimizing life cycle costs.
