Summary

This job involves advising on submarine stealth and signature management for the U.S.

Navy's Pacific Fleet, including analyzing data to spot issues and recommending fixes to keep submarines hidden from detection.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Engineer in the Stealth and Signatures Advisor (SUBPAC N42N) of NSWC CARD DIV D. This position is located in Pearl Harbor, HI.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS 12/13 EQUIVILANT) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional Engineer providing technical input on submarine stealth and signatures to support fleet operations; coordinating among different naval commands or stakeholders on signature-related matters; analyzing acoustic data to identify submarine signature characteristics or deficiencies; and applying procedures related to signature maintenance and management.

  • You will advise Commander Submarine Forces U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMSUBPAC) on all aspects of stealth, susceptibility and signatures for submarines and subsea mission equipment.
  • You will support collection, analysis, and reporting on submarine signatures, and work with applicable subject matter experts (SMEs) for other signature modalities.
  • You will identify signature deficiencies and recommend corrective actions for Pacific Fleet Units.
  • You will engage with SUBPAC leadership, especially Commander (N0), Materiel (N4) and Communications (N6) to provide expertise to applicable discussions and working groups, including those for acoustic communications.
  • You will work with SUBPAC submarine squadrons, submarine commanding officers and crews for to increase acoustic health and signature management knowledge and awareness.
  • You will stay informed about other TYCOM best practices and work to improve commonality between TYCOMs, to include East Coast and Atlantic Submarine Signature Fleet Representatives.
  • You will advise NAVSEA and PACFLT on ACCM program operations, including differences in Fleet and NAVEA practices, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • You will assist, audit and Inspect PACFLT units in ACCM program implementation and execution, ensuring information protection and program compliance.
