Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading engineering projects that use computer models to design and integrate complex naval systems, ensuring everything works together smoothly for defense programs.

You'll guide teams in creating and using these models to develop requirements, analyze designs, and produce technical documents.

Key Requirements

Full Job Description

You will serve as an ENGINEER in the MODEL BASED ENGINEERING & ANALYSIS DIVISION (MXM), MISSION INTEGRATION BRANCH (MXML) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15.

In addition to basic education requirements, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower band, ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer, providing technical guidance and leadership on projects involving model-based system engineering or model-based software technology for the design, development, allocation or integration of model-based system engineering products for an organization.

  • You will provide programmatic leadership in the processes, interfaces, and specific data through the formalized application of modeling for the program office.
  • You will support system-of-systems requirements development, architecture, requirements allocation, design, analysis, and verification and validation activities.
  • You will establish the development process of the Systems Modeling Language (SysML) models used to produce the systems engineering artifacts and technical documentation required to complete various NIFC architectural technical baselines.
  • You will provide leadership, mentorship, and training to the team of system engineers, providing technical expertise in developing, maintaining, executing, improving, and auditing all Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) efforts.
