Job Description

Summary

This job involves providing hands-on technical support for computers, mobile devices, and software to employees and external partners at the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Commission, including fixing issues, installing equipment, and managing IT assets.

Full Job Description

The South Carolina Workers' Compensation Commission's IT Department is responsible for the overall functionality of information services at the Commission. This role is an integral part of those information technology operations. Excellent customer service skills are required as you will provide technical consultation and end-user support for both internal and external stakeholders.

You will install, configure, maintain, move, and upgrade agency desktop, laptop, iPhone/iPad hardware, agency software, and PC peripherals for all agency users.You will provide IT HelpDesk support and consultation for agency hardware and software issues or needs, including VPN connectivity and resolve issues in the most expedient and secure manner possible.

You will assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of “images” for desktop and laptop computers.You will assist with developing deployment schedules and logistics for agency hardware and software.

You will track agency technology assets.

Coordinate and maintain asset documentation, workstation standards, and be responsible for maintaining the agency’s technology storage area.You will serve as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders and IT staff to meet agency technology requirements.You will assist with developing and maintaining customer support policies, procedures, standards, and training materials.You will coordinate with vendors for the replacement or repair of defective equipment.You will provide limited network administration to include adding, changing and removing, new users and configuring network printers.You will maintain, reconfigure, and upgrade all VoIP desk phones, and call management systems.You will perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems.

A degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Ability to maintain good relations with agency management, customers, vendors, and IT staff.

Understanding of enterprise level application security requirements (best practices) and the Security Incident Response Process.Strong organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple on-going projects.Ability to work independently under limited supervision.

Ability to accurately document processes and procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related area and experience in computer system development and modification.
