Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves planning and managing emergency responses to radiological incidents at a naval shipyard, including creating procedures, running drills, and ensuring teams are ready to handle accidents involving radioactive materials.
It focuses on coordinating training, communicating risks to the public, and improving safety processes to keep operations running smoothly.
A good fit would be someone with experience in emergency planning, especially in hazardous environments like nuclear or industrial settings, who enjoys teamwork and problem-solving under pressure.
You will serve as an Emergency Management Specialist in the Radiological Control Office (Code 105) of PSNS and IMF.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Coordinating a radiological emergency management program by planning emergency drills or trainings and conducting studies to implement process improvements that resolve issues which ensures efficient and effective program operations.
