Job Description

Summary

This job involves planning and coordinating efforts to handle emergencies and disasters in the U.S.

Marine Corps, including preparing for risks, responding during crises, and helping recovery afterward.

A good fit would be someone with experience in emergency planning who stays calm under pressure and works well in a team to protect people and resources from natural or human-caused threats.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-11 level or equivalent in maintaining emergency management programs
  • Knowledge of preparing for, responding to, and recovering from emergencies and disasters
  • Experience in coordinating emergency functions to prevent, protect, mitigate, and recover from hazards
  • Ability to plan and execute full-scale and table-top exercises using Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program
  • Skills in developing emergency management standards, risk management processes, regulations, and training procedures
  • Assistance in aiding victims of injuries or damage from natural or man-made disasters

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Maintaining an emergency management program within guidelines, orders and directives; preparing for, responding to, and recovering from emergencies and disasters; and assisting in aiding victims suffering from injury or damage resulting from disaster caused by natural or man-made hazards.

Additional Information Continued: PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ).

To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.

ICTAP Applicants: To be considered well-qualified and exercise selection priority as an ICTAP candidate, displaced Federal employees must satisfy all qualification requirements for the position and receive a rating in the highly qualified category (score 85) or higher.
