Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as an electronics technician in a Navy lab that calibrates and tests equipment for detecting radiation, troubleshooting issues, and preparing reports on prototypes.

You'll handle tasks like repairing electronic systems and evaluating new designs for the military.

GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with radiation health physics, as a qualified radiation worker, related to radioactive sources, radioactive contamination, and the biological effects of radiation on the human body.

Experience utilizing knowledge of RADIAC electronic equipment and its associate electronic test equipment and their operating requirements.

Experience performing work on electronic equipment or subsystems of moderate difficulty with largely standardized configurations.

Experience utilizing training aids, devices and other audio-visual aids to analyze equipment. Experience performing reoccurring assignments independently and recommend solutions when needed.

Experience providing technical reports, both orally or in writing, in a concise and intelligent manner.

  • You will be the Electronics Technician in the RADIAC Calibration Laboratory.
  • You will investigate, analyze and resolve problems pertaining to the design, installation, and maintenance or repair of the equipment and subsystems assigned.
  • You will provide evaluation and test services for prototype RADIAC electronic systems of NAVSEA and ISEA.
  • You will participate in preparing the final reports of project work.
